Although R Little Acres was only born in the fall of 2012, there is over 35 years of horse experience on this farm.  Between past and present horses, I have owned over 30 of my own since I was 16 years old.  I have done basic training to barrel horse training, groundwork, conditioning and western riding lessons.  I have bred horses, hauled horses, intensely self educated myself on equine nutrition and have attended and passed a Miniature Horse Halter and Driving Judging Seminar offered by the Wisconsin Horse Council in 2011.  

     When we first moved to Rising Sun, WI where R Little Acres was conceived, on the small 3.5 acres, we needed a horse suited for it's size and since I had always wanted to raise miniatures, that's what I set out to achieve.  I chose to keep our herd small with a max of 6 horses on a fulltime basis so each and every horse can be handled daily and given personal attention.    Our goal is to breed sane, sound, versatile, pinto and appaloosa miniature horses that meet the AMHR breed standards for both show and back yard pleasure.   

     The horses of course moved with us to Lynxville, WI in 2018.  In 2019 I started showing a little, and plan for more in the future.  My vision for the near future is to continue with pattern breeding, but also to add some refinement with some Shetland influence.  The goal is to stay small and produce correct, colorful, athletic mini's for driving, jumping and liberty as well as color and western stock halter.  Horses that will fit from anyone's backyard to a performance based show program.
